Seems to be snowing above 1600m in Les Contamines. 24cm of fresh at 1800. rain/snow limit forecast to fall by end of day.

@jedster, it's funny how topography changes conditions only a valley across (albeit with a moderately big rock in between).
Easily 35cms above 1,700 in Flegere. I note that the Grands Montets is quoting a 410 cms base this morning  although I don't know where they're measuring.
I mean, I understand a bit of anxiety, especially after last year, but 4 metres* of snow isn't going to be touched by a wee bit rain.
* OK, no, there isn't 4m everywhere and e.g. for the 2 savoies sub 1,500 (?) is at best sketchy, but still ...

225cm at 2400 in Les C - pretty consistent with the Flegere level

All precipitation I've seen up the mountain in Zillertal in the last couple of days has been snow. It rained a bit last night in the valley, but it's due to start snowing again tonight with the freezing level way below 1000m

The torrential rain over west Switzerland turned to snow late on last evening.
Myself , Mrs dodger and a few friends skied some terrific powder in Lenk today.
