@Kuba, nice - brings back good memories - spent 2 weeks skiing in the Watkins range in '07 - amazing views from the summit looking out towards the ice caps...!
0:50 - looking a tad firm

@offpisteskiing, never been there but people mentioned Watkins is an amazing place. Did you ski Gunnbjørn Fjeld?

Looks Ace- I was there 2 years ago- truly stunning place to visit and ski.
A must visit, if one has the opportunity.
If you were with the guys (and girls) from Pirhuk, they run a fabulous operation and Matt Spencely is the best guide I have ever had the good fortune to ski with.

I climbed Gunnbjørnsfjeld in 1989 with Erskine Expeditions (who no longer operate) when there was uncertainty whether it was the highest peak in Greenland. I think that there had only been 8 previous ascents. Whilst technically no more difficult than a Scottish Munroe in winter, its remoteness makes it a serious undertaking. We climbed the summit ridge roped but the approach glaciers provided excellent touring on cross country skis. It is a fantastic area to explore. Approach these days is by twin-engine Otter landing on the glacier, but the early pioneers landed by boat as soon as the pack-ice had cleared in the summer. They built a hut and sat out the winter, trekking to the Watkins Range in the spring and returning in the summer hoping that the return boat had got through the pack ice to pick them up. It now receives several ascents each summer. Tours from England can be arranged through Tangent Expeditions. Greenland offers scope for a wide variety of skiing, boarding and mountaineering, much of it in unexplored areas.
