Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Slalom ski advice

@GlasgowCyclops,
@Skizuber, My "Piste" ski is Salomon XRace 170 and it is nice but the Kastle's are an amazing go everywhere ski. And SOOOOOOOO much more stable on fast piste GS carves.

Kastle is nowhere to find where I am. Plus I'm pure slalom fan. Only last run, when I'm already tired I widen up to GS and slow down to avoid injuring myself Smile
What can you tell me about x race? Is that S or GS radius?

I love my Dynastar Speedzones. I've got the 12s in 174cm https://goo.gl/KJtmZY and the 14s in 182cm https://goo.gl/y27GQ2. I'm in between sizes so went for both (at discounted prices!). The shorter ones are great when I'm feeling lazy. The longer ones for when I'm feeling more on it and the snow is good. I was on a lift in Tignes earlier this season chatting to a pisteur. He reckoned the Speedzones to be the best all round skis he'd ever had.

Still confused as to what OP wants. I still also think the P40s in my garage are the best solution (I think they're 170s) - one elderly lady owner, hardly used.

Feels terribly like tools being blamed for techical deficiencies.

@rjs,
Great ,THANKS man!
Please do not fall into "old/new" style crap. Neither of those styles can't exist without other. Just look at any word cup slalom race. They carve ,they skid,they jump.
Thanks again for info

I joined here last night in hope to get an advice from actual SL owners or testers about different sl models/brands.But, as you said....another vanity fair.
Well for what its worth last 2 skies I owned were Fischer rc4 wc sc and Volkl P40 race sl. If someone is interested and cant test em....fell free to ask

I joined SH in 2011 asking a similar question about ski's. Got a similar sarcastic reply from @under a new name & co. Must be one of those initiation things rolling eyes

If you can get to an indoor snow slope then the on-site shops, like Snow and Rock, have a lot of test ski's. I loved my RC4's but admittedly they were too good for me!

@jellylegs,
Nahh no indoor slopes near by. Wich model year is your Fisher. You have RC4 Worldcup SC? If you talk about 2017/18 a have that one and find the edge too grippy. Great for hard and ice but too much work and not enjoyable for else

@jellylegs, a quick check and your initial question generated more facetious responses than only the one from me.

Despite, in fairness, giving a reasonable amount of information, your OP could have been paraphrased as, "How long is a piece of string?".

Whereas, @Skizuber, seems to be asking, "I like slalom skis, except none of them work for me, which ones would?"

I suggested looking at the new race like piste skis from Volkl (Code) and Salomon (S-Lab) but was told the radii were wrong. I noted that radius was not the important thing, but torsional rigidity (sadly rarely published) was. Both, I think, helpful.

Not Code but tried same category ski rom Elan and was not that focused for SL.

Whereas, @Skizuber, seems to be asking, "I like slalom skis, except none of them work for me, which ones would?"

I tried 2 SL skies(own Fischer SC and had very short run with Ela SLX) and now asking about 10 others from same class of ski's! Got an answer from nice gentleman and owner of Head Isl.
Do you really have some reading dissability or think, being an ass is so cool? Wow! Get some professional help....ASAP

Youre right,but allow me small correction,hope you'll agree.
Superiority complex ,it would heve been if he tried that attitude in real life(and get slap in a face) and not in security and anonymity of forum. This is more inferiority issue......healing process

That.

I just find it rather incongruous that a self proclaimed expert tips up and asks advice on buying a tool that is completely designed to not do what he wants to do rolling eyes Puzzled Puzzled

Confused.

@under a new name,
I may easily be or not be self proclaimed expert, but it doesn't matter. Question was about SL skis in that category.
But obviously ,by other's comment's you dont have to proclaim anything.
You already are rude and frustrated mental case on this forum.
Have a nice day

So true, but.....where?
I was just talking with only in skis specialised store manager/owner/skier, with 30+ years experience in branch.
Quote: " Dont go with 170cm lenght SL ski, it acts more as a GS ski"
At 14m radius I was more than puzzled.
